                                                                                    How you feel when ordering something special on a birthday to give a lavish treat to near and dear ones and a delivery boy is not dropping the parcel at your doorstep! very awkward situation to face! Especially it happens in India because address benchmarks are given such as near, behind, in front of, in the next lane, and address becomes confusing for the delivery person to trace out, but soon it will be possible to avoid such embarrassment with the help of Unique Digital Address Code (DAC). Currently, towns, cities of India are identified with a 6-digit pin code and it is going to be replaced with a 12-digit digital address code, and it will be in 12- digits by considering the possibility that in future no. of houses may reach up to 100 crores or more. In India, there are about 75 crore houses having their true identification with pin codes which is often troublesome. Now Indian Postal department is planning to implement a unique digital address code to each house. Soon each house will have its unique address code and QR code which will be linked to satellite or google maps, actually, this code will act as digital coordinates to google maps and by scanning, it will give out the exact location of the house without giving the name of the village, town, or city name. 

According to the Postal Department of India, there are 75 crore houses in India and will be divided into 2.5 million colonies and each colony will consist of 300 addresses. It will be so particular that if any residential complex has 40 flats, then each flat will have its own DAC or if it is 4 storeyed building and 4 different families are living, then each individual family will have a unique DAC for true address authentication. 

Benefits of DAC -

1. Its primary intention is to deliver the goods or parcel to the exact address without any mistake by tracing the DAC on the platform of the digital map.                                                                             

2. Each house's address can be verified online for many govt. For commercial purposes like Banking, Insurance, Telecom services, Electricity we need to submit address proof which is mainly Adhar Card in India but its address can not be traced or scanned online. It will work as E-KYC (E - Know Your Customer).

3. By DAC, it will be very easy to access and conduct different govt, programs or surveys like disaster management, emergency services, election administration or population counting, etc.                              

4. It will smoothen the progress in the E-Commerce business and related fraud can be easily avoided. For maintaining the law and order, the implementation of safety measures would be enhanced.                

But some sensible govt. organizations will be kept away from DAC considering safety and security reasons. These will be connected to the neighborhood or city code.
