 Time Magazine's Innovation- 2022

It is said that necessity is the mother of all inventions and man is continuously trying to enhance product quality, performance, safety, comfort, and environmental protection so that our living standard can be upgraded to another level which was just thought of earlier, and because of continuous efforts in R and D, every year the current technology is upgraded with new hope and dimension. So here are the 10 best innovations that have been categorized by Time Magazine.

1. Artificial Intelligence - The First Robotic Prosthetic Hand

Esper bionic prosthetic hand is based on artificial intelligence and the digital signal will get better over time. It is the first robotic prosthetic powered by AI and cloud technology. The lightweight device has 24 sensors. It works by recognizing muscle movements and brain impulses. Machine learning integrated into the Esper platform gradually enables the hand to perform tasks with intuitive understanding.

2. Miracle in the laboratory - The Diamond is made by absorbing carbon from the air

Ather Diamond Company has taken a new step towards keeping the environment clean. They made a diamond by pulling carbon from the atmosphere. These will be cheaper than diamonds extracted from mines but more expensive than diamonds produced in the laboratory. These are based on the technology of absorbing carbon dioxide from the air. Diamonds are ready to shine after 8 to 12 weeks of chemical processes, such as cutting and polishing. Such diamonds sequester carbon from the atmosphere, says CEO, Ryan Sherman, and by this method, not only harmful carbon dioxide will be compensated up to some extent but also going to get shining and precious diamonds, isn't it a miracle, yes indeed it's a miracle in the laboratory.

3. Digitally Controlled Bus - For School

In Gothenburg, Sweden, new boundaries are set to keep the roads safe. The city recently started a project with Volvo to create a realm for digitally controlled buses. Buses automatically will slow down near schools, in emission-free zones and these hybrid buses will automatically switch to electric engines to reduce carbon emissions. This arrangement is expected to be made permanent for public buses. These buses would provide extra safety nearby premises such as schools so as to avoid accidental casualties and in the future, they will be implemented in other sensitive areas.

4. Change in the brand market - Made cloth from plastic, leather from mushroom

Environmental awareness has increased in the fashion business. Many reputed brands have started giving due attention to the safety of the environment and began producing clothes from recycled plastic and vegan leather made from mushrooms. This year Adidas and H&M company Arkett teamed up with Finland-based company Spinova to introduce cotton-like fabric made from wood pulp yarn through a unique process. Its production uses 99% less water is used than cotton production.

5. Makeup industry - Now lips will be red with vegetarian lipstick

Completely red lips have been well beyond the reach of vegans. In fact, the makeup industry relied on the pigment carmine made by crushing insects to give lipstick its color. After three years of research, Unilever has launched the vegan cosmetic brand Hourglass. This lipstick is red and radiates color with a silky finish. Hourglass plans to make the carmine alternative process available to everyone in the near future. Many people's skin is very sensitive to the cosmatic product and some of them get badly infected and often get rashes or allergic infections and if maximum of cosmetic products get manufactured with the help of naturally available ingredients as compared to the different available harmful chemicals then it would give large number of people who are sensitive enough to the cosmatic products and this product is definitely one of them.

6. More powerful battery - Electric car will run 800 km in one go

Electric vehicles are getting better every year. America's Lucid group Lucid air electric Sedan has been left behind by tesla, Porsche Audi, and Mercedes. It can run 836 km in one go. At the moment, no other electric car has such a powerful battery. The 1200-horsepower car accelerates from zero to nearly 90 kilometers in less than two seconds. The battery gets charged for 480 km in just 22 minutes.

7. Frozen coffee - The taste will last for several months, and will be stronger

American coffee maker Comether has come up with a new way to preserve the bitter taste of coffee for a long time. According to the company's CEO, Matthew Roberts the flavor and color of normal coffee beans tend to fade after some time. The company has created a system that produces ten times stronger coffee than a normal cup, immediately freezing in liquid nitrogen. Its taste remains for many months. Coffee can be made by adding coffee capsules to hot water.

8. Dialog from holograph image - Secure new way of medical training

Expensive education for medical students can be risky in the era of covid-19. Indian origin Dr. Arun Gupta, consultant at Cambridge university Hospital helped to create the application in the field of holo scenarios. Through this device, students wearing mixed-reality headsets can interact with patients through holographic images. Especially the treatment of patients suffering from asthma, pneumonia, respiratory, and other infectious diseases can be safely monitored, and by that, medical students will be able to do remote practice with the new facility.

9. Protecting nature - Tracking carbon emissions with a calculator

Indian origin Namrata Sandhu has launched Vayu, a carbon tracking company in the U.S. Vayu's calculator platform tells companies at all times how much carbon dioxide they are releasing into the atmosphere. Companies are given information about their supply bases and areas where they can reduce carbon emissions. 60 companies have taken the services of Vayu, the company can inform the customer before purchase, that how much carbon is emitted from that product. Here the worth noting fact is that in the Hindi language, "Vayu" means "Air" as it is launched by an Indian origin personality. With the help of Vayu, companies will be able to minimize their carbon emissions which is becoming a major concern of the globe, especially it is helpful in the scenario where many industries are trying to meet zero carbon.

10. Attention to health - The robot will do surgery with a cut of one and a half cm

Vicarious surgical company has created a robotics system with a 360 - degree camera. this will allow surgeons to control both the hands of the robot by wearing a virtual reality headset. There are 28 sensors in each hand. by making a cut of only one and a half centimeters, the robot will enter the patient's body. open surgery can have a 15% to 20% accuracy rate, says Adam Saks, CEO of vicarious. a smaller cut can reduce the rate of problem to 19%. As we very well know how effective is the role of robotics in different industries, and especially in the field of medicine, robotics can do very impressive jobs, as it can minimize human error.

Here, in the consequence of the innovation, I would like to quote the example of the great scientist Thomas Elva Edison who invented electric bulb.He was trying hard to find the suitable metal that could withstand high temperature inside the bulb when used as a filament. He tried many metals, and after many unsuccessful attempts, finally he succeeded to find exact metal suitable for the filament, and that was tungsten. He became very happy, and joyful. Then his assistant asked him," Sir, we succeeded after many unsuccessful attempts,so there is no point to celebrate the success". But his reply was extremely positive. He replied, " I AM THE ONLY MAN ON THE EARTH WHO KNOWS MANY DIFFERENT WAYS BY WHICH THE BULB SHOULD NOT BE MADE". What a terrific answer it was, and what kind of positivity and never give up attitude! So, for any innovation,it requires dedication, and devotion!
