Deep Breathing- A Divine Technique
Breathing is a fundamental process that we perform unconsciously every day. It is an essential process that keeps us alive and healthy. However, we often don't pay much attention to our breathing patterns, and as a result, we may not be breathing effectively. Deep breathing is a technique that can help you breathe more efficiently, and it has numerous health benefits. In this article, we will discuss deep breathing techniques, their benefits, and how they can help common users.
Methods:
Deep breathing involves taking slow, deep breaths in and out. There are several methods to practice deep breathing. One of the most popular methods is called diaphragmatic breathing, also known as belly breathing. To practice diaphragmatic breathing, follow these steps:
Find a quiet and comfortable place to sit or lie down, and try to choose a room with an airy environment.
Place one hand on your belly and the other hand on your chest.
Inhale deeply through your nose and feel your belly rise while keeping your chest relatively still.
Exhale slowly through your nose, feeling your belly fall.
Repeat this process several times, focusing on the sensation of your breath moving in and out of your body.
Or else, it can be done by simply sitting in an airy room, keeping the spinal cord straight upwards, and just trying to inhale the maximum amount of fresh air or oxygen through the nostrils as maximum as you can, as per the lungs' capacity, and then slowly exhale the breath through the nostrils.
Benefits:
Deep breathing has several benefits for our physical and mental health. Here are a few:
1. Reduces stress and anxiety: Deep breathing triggers the relaxation response in our body, which helps to reduce stress and anxiety levels. It slows down our heart rate and calms our minds.
2. Improves lung function: Deep breathing exercises help to increase lung capacity and improve the efficiency of the respiratory system.
3. Lowers blood pressure: Deep breathing can help to reduce blood pressure levels by promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
4. Boosts immunity: Deep breathing exercises can stimulate the lymphatic system, which helps to eliminate toxins and improve immunity.
5. Sound Sleep - After going to bed, if we practice deep breathing, then it triggers the relaxing hormones in the body, and we can have a sound sleep without any disturbance. This is a proven method, since I started deep breathing practice, my sleep pattern has completely changed. Just give it a try. It really works.
6. Control anger - When we are in an extreme emotional phase such as anger, anxiety, or depression, just 5-10 times deep breathing will control the emotion.
Besides the above benefits, there are several benefits like overall cool behavior, calmness, happiness, glowing face, good mood, great working stamina, good digestion, etc.
How it can help common users:
Deep breathing is a simple technique that anyone can practice, regardless of age or fitness level. It is a great way to relax and reduce stress levels, especially during times of high stress. It can also be used as a quick and effective tool to manage anxiety symptoms, such as shortness of breath or rapid heartbeat. Deep breathing exercises can be incorporated into daily routines, such as during a break at work or before bedtime, to promote relaxation and improve overall well-being. If a regular practice of deep breathing is done over some time, then unknowingly it becomes a habit.
Conclusion:
Deep breathing is a simple yet powerful technique that can have a significant impact on our physical and mental health. Regular practice can help to reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve lung function, lower blood pressure, and boost immunity. Incorporating deep breathing exercises into daily routines can help common users manage stress and improve overall well-being. Many people believe that practicing YOGA is a very difficult and troublesome activity, and one needs a lot of guidance and precautions to be taken, it's not completely true, for different activities like PRANAYAM, one needs to be careful and proper guidance and expert advice, but anyone can go for deep breathing, even we all are familiar to it. When we take part in any games or sport, jogging, cycling, or any physical activity, we breathe at a faster rate but it has no particular pace and rhythm, but if we perform it rhythmically at a particular pace, it becomes deep breathing, and one can learn it in a very short period of a time, but it's results are amazing.
It is commonly observed by us that when a person is in an extreme emotional mood like anger, sadness, depression, or any disturbing pattern, breathing pattern changes, meaning it becomes at a faster rate or it will not be in a rhythm and vice-versa if we change breathing pattern, we can control any extreme emotional mood, because suddenly we feel relax and calm, we feel controlled and our emotional expressions get vanished and we can save ourselves and others that were supposed to happen.
A second good example of deep breathing is the breathing pattern of a child, he breaths from the belly, which is deep breathing. He does not breathe from the lungs but from the belly, and we all know the physique of a child, his overall behavior, selflessness, happiness, and divine innocence, because by nature, he knows the correct technique of breathing. But unfortunately, when he grows older he just becomes away from the divine technique that he used to.
Another example of deep breathing is a tortoise, whose approximate life span is about 150-200 years, it is because he breaths twice- thrice per minute, small birds breathe 40-45 per minute, big animals 25-30 per minute, and we breathe17 times per minute. If we take the example of different animals and their breathing pattern per minute and their life span, we can easily understand the importance of deep breathing and how it is important for our long life.
In Hindi, it is the saying, " Bhagwan hume ginke sense dete hai", meaning God has given a fixed number of breaths to every individual. As soon as we complete that number of breathing, our life is going to an end. So, if we manage and practice those fixed numbers of breathing over a long duration of time with the help of the divine technique, then definitely we can elongate our life span.
It is said that the main reason behind every disease is the lack of oxygen in that particular body part. So if we practice deep breathing 2-3 times a day, each and every organ of our body will get a sufficient amount of oxygen, and be able to exhale CO2 completely from the body, and we can keep away from any kind of disease. By deep breathing exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide occurs in the proper manner as it should, and lack of oxygen and accumulation of carbon dioxide in the body is the root cause of all diseases, regular practice teaches how to inhale more oxygen and exhale harmful gases from the body. Research showed that in the presence of oxygen, even cancer cells get killed.
In Yoga, it is said that, if we manage to keep our spinal cord straight and exercise deep breathing, then we can live successfully up to 100 years without any disease.
So, let's practice, the divine technique of deep breathing 2-3 times a day, yes it is actually divine. Many people think that breathing is a natural process and it will not help us, so just give it a try for at least a week and feel the difference. You will be surprised and amazed to feel a positive difference, another way is If we take a selfie before starting deep breathing practice and after 15 days we can have another selfie, and find out the difference. It is the best possible way to check how effective this practice is. When we practice over some time, then it becomes the natural pattern of breathing, then we don't need to take any extra effort for that.
NOTE -For the correct technique and way to perform the practice of deep breathing, one can learn from any YOGA expert.
