We definitely have seen many species of birds who migrate miles away in search of food and favorable weather. It is a subject of research that how and on what natural GPS system they perfectly find out their favorite shelter of a season and returns back to their original places even after six months or more.

But it is neither migration of real birds nor the people who have lost their employment during the 2020 lockdown caused by COVID-19 and returning to their home towns by any possible means available.

Who are metro migrant Birds?

These are new classes of people generated who are trying to migrate from many metros of India like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi, etc. to the remote or countryside areas available. These classes of people are mostly belonging to young IT professionals or retired people. They are trying to find out shelter, not for a particular season but forever.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic very strongly another option has been created and that is to work online. Young IT professionals, just need proper connectivity or internet facilities. It doesn't really make much difference for them whether living in metros or green countryside areas and in case of retired people they have enough stuff to spend the rest of the life comfortably.

Why are they migrating?

Actually, these classes of people have become totally fade up and irritated with the life of the metro cities where they presently living like noisy and polluted cities, crowded streets, traffic jams unavailability of natural & healthy atmosphere. In the concrete jungle of metros, they are missing fresh air and water healthy natural environment, and an innocent aroma of soil. They just need peace of mind, a soft and healthy lifestyle which is only possible if they get shelter in natural remote places where they want to spend the rest of their life in the vicinity of green nature and have a real deep breath of pure fresh air.

Its possible impacts:

1.     Property dealers would get a new business deal to sell their properties in metros and buy cottage homes in remote areas.

2.     New era of employment will be opened in these areas where this class of people would be living in the future.

3.     These migrating people will save a lot of money because it is quite cheaper to live in such areas as compared to metros costly life.

4. Up to some extent today densely populated metros will reduce their burden because metros are becoming more and more crowded with the duration of time.

But as COVID-19 has changed our lifestyle drastically, this new wave of metro migrant birds will also find its own psychology. After all, change is the basic law of nature.
