Apart from all these uses, it is rarely known for its milk, yes camel milk!

But nowadays, this desert animal is getting due attention for its milk. Because of its many unique qualities and huge demand, Rajsthan Govt. is going to start a camel milk processing plant in the next three months in the Pali District, because this district has about 12,000 camels which is higher than any other part of the state. For doing so, Dairy Commities will be opened all across the district, which will collect milk from rearers. Collected milk will be transported through cold chain vehicles up to the processing plant where the milk will be pasteurized on diff. criteria, processed and flavored milk, ice cream, chocolate, shrikhand, panner products will be made and dispatched.

Benefits of camel milk -

As per the studies and research, It is highly antioxidant, very rich in vitamins, minerals, iron, copper, zinc which is very beneficial in diseases like T.B, Aids, as it is a high immunity booster, it contains a sufficient amount of Insuline, so very good for diabetic patients. Unfortunately, the density of camels is decreasing day by day because of many reasons such as land receiving less rainfall, sufficient area of land is occupied by solar power plants and wind power plants ( Rajasthan state is number one in the country as it receives sun rays for 325 days a year),  rearers face a problem of fodder for camels, so they migrate to other parts of India. Definitely, after the opening of the Pali milk processing plant, rearers will be motivated as they will get a good return for selling camel milk because it is rarely available. In comparison to a traditional animal, the cow gives hardly 6 to 7 litres per day. The camel has always been part of desert people whether it is culture, festival, tradition, profession, attachment, or emotional bonding because the animal always inspires desert people to live calm and quiet against all odds of the desert hard life. such a step will boost the desire among the people to protect and flourish the population of camels. So after the opening of the dairy, more and more farmers will come forward to rare this animal. At the same time, it will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for many other people too.
